Building a better game to a plan
There are many facets to developing your game. You need to:-
· Establish goals;
· Benefit by a relationship with a PGA Professional who you can relate to;
· Build a plan with that Professional;
· Practice a little to make the game improvements more sub conscious than conscious.
The first step is to establish your strengths as well as weaknesses. It is desirable to have a swing that produces predictable outcomes. Your swing doesn’t have to be perfect – but has to be developed wth physical and time limitations in mind.
Once you have that swing it is time to move onto target focus and process. This is an exciting step as you already have your swing “in the “bank”.
Once this is in place you should be enjoying playing as much as you can and reviewing game statistics. These reviews will identify patterns, good and bad, strengths and weaknesses as well as identifying your opportunities for further game development.
What steps to follow
Have an initial session with your chosen PGA Professional. From this you will identify their style of coaching. This might or might not suit you. If not seek out another Professional.
If they are “the one” have a discussion around goals, times and budget.
From this discussion an experienced coach will be able to provide you with a “clear road map” to the goals.
